1st Weeks with my new Host Family

After flying for what seemed like all day I finally arrived in New Orleans and made my way through the airport to find my new host mom. We went to the store to get something to eat and then went to meet everyone else. Some of the kids were at school so I didn't meet them until they got home. That night it was just getting to know people and then the next day it was straight into it.

Since then I have been very busy working and resting in between the times I'm needed. I have had my day and a half off both weeks and next weekend is my full weekend off, which will be nice.

The kids are great, but they are very good at getting in trouble when they are together. We work together and we really only look after 9 of the 10 kids. Eight of the kids are in school (almost) every day and one goes a couple times a week and the youngest stays at home. 

So far everything is going well and I really like it here. The other au pairs are really nice and we get along really well. I am the only one in my apartment and if the family gets another au pair she'll live in the apartment I'm in, but for now I like being alone in here :)
