Fourth of July

My host family went away on vacation for July 4th so I went into New York City with my friend (also an Au Pair) Jacqui from South Africa. We walked through the city and had a good time. It was a really hot day so by the time we got to the public viewing area for the Macy’s Fireworks we were almost puddles.

While waiting we met really nice mother and one of her daughters from Mesa, Arizona. They were on an edu-vacation to New York before starting high school. We sat with them and talked with them, they were really nice.

After it was finally dark enough the fireworks started. The display was like nothing I have ever seen before.

After the fireworks finished everyone flooded the streets and walk to where they needed to go. There must have been at least 2 or 3 million people there.
